I have owned my Beertender since Nov ’08. It has worked perfectly and I really enjoy pouring the perfect draft beers from it. My unit gives 3 temperature options (36,39,42) and only takes a couple hours to get to temperature from store chilled keg. The unit is quiet and easy to use. Of course you need to understand that it ONLY works with the Heineken and Heineken Light kegs. Also, it requires you to replace the tube each time you replace a keg. These cost about a dollar a piece. There are other units out there that allow using more varieties of beer, but all in all I love my Beertender and can live with Heineken Light on tap at all times!

I got this product from my wife and instantly became the coolest guy on the block. The only suggestion I have is to make sure you buy your keg cans cold or chill them in a fridge. The Beertender can take a full 12 hours to cool down a keg. Other than that I have had nothing but perfectly chilled goodness and great experiences with my Beertender.

I was a little worried when I read other people’s reviews online about how their BeerTender had performed. Then again I did come across some good experiences people were having with their BeerTender. The short story is that it seems a lot of people have purchased the DraughtKeg and brought it home expecting to throw it in the BeerTender and start pouring beer with minimal foam. I think this is the first misconception.
After reading about the mistakes of others, I carefully planned out my strategy. I purchased my DraughtKeg a day before I planned to unveil my BeerTender as a Christmas gift to myself. This way the keg would have time to chill in my fridge and the foam buildup from the drive home would have time to settle over night. Once I opened up the BeerTender box I took some time to read through the instructions and double check my steps. When placing the keg into the BeerTender I took care not to cause a buildup of foam by jerking the keg about. Smooth gentle movements with the keg to keep foam buildup to a minimal.
I then proceeded to grab my 16oz pilsner and rinse it (inside and out). Next I opened the spout (all the way down) while my glass had the 45* angle working for it and behold, beauty!
A lot of this is commonsense to the person who has poured beer from a keg or maybe been to a bar and seen how bartenders pour beer. Commonsense folks…
Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

If you’re thinking about getting it, do it.
Positives: 1. Heineken tastes so much better out of the keg (no skunky smell like you sometimes get out of the bottle). And, the beer stays carbonated for weeks. 2. Convenience – couldn’t be easier. Replacing the keg takes all of 90 seconds and having a great beer on tap all the time is brilliant. 3. Entertaining – great when friends come over to visit or when the guys come over to play cards. 4. Appearance – the stainless and black is hip enough that your wife will probably allow you to put it on the kitchen counter. If you have a game room or den, even better. Takes up same space as a toaster or coffee maker. 5. Cost – $20 for a replacement keg and $1 for the new tube each time adds up to a pretty good price per pint.
Negatives: 1. Currently only Heineken kegs fit the BeerTender. 2. The 5L kegs are currently difficult to find in my market – but, the distributors have told me that it should be resolved by Feb 09. 3. You should really keep a 2nd keg always on hand so that you don’t run out. If you have a 2nd frig, then no problem. The thing is, if you have to run to the liquor store for a replacement, then it’s a pain and often, the one you bring home from the liquor store needs a little time to cool down before serving. Having a spare, on-hand and pre-chilled, is beautiful.

I received the BeerTender as a gift. Love it. It fits neatly on the counter top in the kitchen. Every glass of beer is served at the perfect portion and the perfect temperature.

I received the beertender as a birthday gift, and I was very excited. I have no complaints with this product. All I can say to anyone having trouble is to purchase the kegs already cold from the beer distributor, and as long as you tilt the glass when you pour them, you should have minimal problems with foam. I genuinely rate this product well, and would suggest it to anyone who likes to entertain guests.

I bought it for US$ 99 and I am very satisfied with this product. The only problem is to avoid drinking a glass of cold beer every time I enter the kitchen.

The BeerTender works great and is a piece of cake to set up. My only complaint is that the mini keg goes quickly when you have a few friends over, so keep a spare in the fridge!

I have been wanting a kegerator for my basement for a while but couldn’t justify spending $600+. My wife surprised me with the Krups B90 mini kegerator as a fathers day gift. I had seen these units at the stores and I was not impressed with what I saw. The main thing that I was put off by was that it only works with Heineken mini kegs. I am a die hard Sam Adams fan and did not want to waste my money on a system designed only for Heineken.
Well I got my 1st Heineken mini keg and set up the BeerTender on my kitchen counter top. I was impressed with how it looked, but still not sure about how I would like it. I got the mini keg chilled, so it only took a few hours to get a green light (beer is correct temp) on the BeerTender unit. Poured my 1st glass and got a lot of foam. Read some reviews and found out this is normal for the 1st pour. Still has trouble with the next couple of pours, but had a lot of fun trying to get it right. Finally found the correct combination that works for me. Use a pint glass and run it under cold water a few seconds before filling. Hold at a 45 degree angle and pull the tap completely open. When the beer starts getting full, slowly tilt the glass to an upright position. RESULT…Perfecly poured pint of Heineken with a 1″ head of foam. GREAT!
To my surprise, I like Heineken on tap. No skunky flavor like you get in the bottles. The foam does have a slight metallic taste, but once you get to the beer, it’s great! Yes, this is a novelty item, but I’m all about beer and having fun. Glad my wife got this for me.

I love the beertender… works great… and more beers are available… New Castle Dark is very good… I reuse the tubes… you just remove the top, and use a small screwdriver to pry the tabs loose from the lip that holds it to the keg… I get at least 4 uses… but don’t see any reason they can’t go until the plastic looks to be worn… I just didn’t let that happen, yet… its really a well made piece of equipment… and delivers a nice beer…
